APICT Cameroon

The pilot test of the Pedagogical ICT Licence in Cameroon was launched in Douala in September 2004. Seven faciltitators were certified and three weeks after the certification seminar, the first two pilot classes began their course.

With the certification of the facilitators the localisation procedure of the materials and the translation into French was initiated. This localisation is still in progress revising the material according to the recommendations of first teams. In March 2005 two additional classes are launched having their introductory days in two new ict-centers.

One of the pilots is launched in the English speaking part of the country.

The report below explains about about the first months work, and is very positive towards the concept, although a number of things in the material had to be rewritten to the Cameroonian school-system.
